I feel like the spring semester is always more difficult to survive than the fall semester. Maybe it’s because we’re finally getting nice weather again, but at the close of every spring semester, I feel my sanity hanging on by a thread. I have a bunch of projects I still need to work on and complete (hopefully, though, most of them are finished by now), but I can’t seem to muster enough motivation to actually dedicate myself to working on them. The senior slide is really hitting. I thought I was immune, yet, alas, I am but a mere mortal. Unfortunate.
Instead of focusing on that sad and stressful fact, let’s take a peek into how the semester as a whole went, and where life is taking me after graduation!
Semester Highlights

- Killed it at my internship
- Got hired at the firm where I interned (at the Manitowoc location)
- My costume designer debut in the KT musical went well
- Had some pretty good weekends (despite working on Saturday)
- Received an academic award (what a nerd)
- Started my apartment hunt with Brianna
Semester Sadness

- Wasn’t able to go home for Spring Break (and was snowed in for a few days)
- Senior slide is a real thing
- Didn’t play as many games with my little brother as I wanted to
- Last semester :O
Life Updates
As you may have already guessed from my highlights, I am planning to stay in the Green Bay area after graduation. Brianna and I are currently looking for an apartment. I’ll be working at an accounting firm in Manitowoc (full time!), which should be fun. They want me to start studying for the CPA exam as soon as possible, so I’ll likely spend a lot of my summer doing that. In August, I’ll be taking a “one last hurrah” trip with my family to celebrate the graduations of myself, my little brother, and my sister. So, that will be fun. Hopefully. Family trips are always a toss up, I suppose.
Overall, I think I’m optimistic about what the future holds for me. I think (and hope) that I’m well-equipped to handle most of what life may throw my way. I know that much of these last few weeks will be bittersweet—change is hard and there will be plenty of things I will miss. But I want to choose to focus on the sweetness. This new era is exciting and rife with possibility. Isn’t that cool? In the ensuing years, I hope to become an even better person than before. I hope to continue to learn about myself and the world around me. Will it work out? I guess we’ll all have to wait and see 🙂
