Animal Ranking

I have been tasked with writing about my fifth favorite animal. Unfortunately, in order to do this, I need to rank my top five favorite animals. This is difficult, since I am rather indecisive when it comes to ranking things. Still, I will do my best. Here goes:

1. Barn Owl

They’re very cool and cute. They also look like the harbinger of death and there’s something deeply unsettling about them that doesn’t match their cuteness, which makes me like them even more.

2. Cardinal

I think they look cool (wow, red). They were my grandmother’s favorite bird as well. My family keeps gifting me cardinal-themed things.

3. Adelie Penguin

Penguins are basically the Stumpf family bird. I don’t know why. But they’re cool, I guess. I think the Adelie Penguin is the cutest out of the penguin species. They’re nice and simple. A classic penguin, if you will.

4. Bumble Bee

They sound scary, yes, but they are cute and fluffy. Bumble Bees will hardly ever sting a human. I’ve heard them referred to as “sky pandas” because they are relatively docile and just kind of fly around lazily looking for flowers to pollinate. Very cute.

5. Stoat

Now, the moment we’ve all been waiting for…my fifth favorite animal, the stoat! They’re also called ermines. Technically, I guess they’re a rodent, but I would let one infest my house just because they’re so darn cute. I think they’re part of the weasel/ferret family, which explains the long body and short legs. Their coats change color throughout the year, which is pretty cool. In the summer, they’re brown, but in the winter, they’re white. Fun fact: stoats are predators and can kill rabbits, which are bigger than they are. Isn’t that neat! Maybe they wouldn’t be good in a house, actually. But still, they’re very cute.
