Fall Break Shenanigans

FOR KING + COUNTRY Concert

On Thursday, right after driving home for 5 hours, my mother invites me to get Mexican food with her. Of course, I agree. When would I say no to free Mexican food? My aunts were over, so all of us went to the local Mexican restaurant. After we ate, my mom says, “Now we’re headed to the DECC for the concert!”
What. Why would I want to go to a concert immediately after driving home? But, I didn’t voice any of these concerns with my mother. I just went along with the ride. In all honesty, the concert was okay! There were some technical issues, which caused the concert to start late, but when the concert started everything was fine. Below are some pictures straight from the FOR KING + COUNTRY Instagram.

Time With Siblings?

I wanted to spend some time with my siblings this weekend, but unfortunately, I wasn’t able to devote much time to them. For one thing, my aunts were over until Saturday afternoon, so I spent most of my time with them. I don’t see either of them very often, so it was nice to have a couple of days with them.

My little brother still had school, so he was at school most of Friday. My older sister had work, so she was there Friday. My older brother also had work, so I ended up spending most of my Friday alone because my aunts went to visit my grandfather. It was kind of sad, but I was able to play some Witcher 3, so that was good.

Friday was also homecoming for my local highschool. I didn’t go to the game, but I did watch the band in the parade. Because of the football game, my little brother didn’t get home until 10 PM Friday night.

On Saturday, my little brother had a JV Soccer game, so I went to that. We lost, of course, but it was nice to spend some time alone with my father. I don’t get to do that very often. My little brother had to stay for the Varsity game, so he didn’t get home until 7 PM.

Saturday night, my sister and I watched some Bob’s Burgers while my little brother hid in his room. After that, we played some Minecraft until my parents came home.

Sunday, I got breakfast at Perkin’s with all of my siblings and then I drove home. It was too short of a break and I didn’t get to see as much of my siblings as I would have liked to. More than anything, this break reminded me that I won’t get the carefree days of my childhood back. The days where all I had to worry about was which game I was going to play with my siblings. At least I got to see my dog.
